Karen Williams, M.S.S., ACSW, LSW - Therapist

Karen is a Master's Level Social Worker. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College and her BA in Sociology from Northeastern University in Boston. She has twenty years experience working as a psychotherapist in various settings including community mental health and agency clinics as well as private practice.

Karen prefers to work with individuals and couples, from young adults to seniors. Her special areas of interest include anxiety, depression, grief & loss, P.T.S.D., trauma, abuse, and distress due to life circumstances. Her approach to Therapy is Person-Centered and her couples work is heavily influenced by Imago couples work of Harville Hendrix.

Karen has completed Level II EMDR training with 5 years experience and has extensive professional training in Emotional Freedom Technique Training (EFT), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her goal in therapy is to assist her clients in gaining a greater understanding of themselves and offer tools to assist them with living more fully. She offers a trusting environment where her clients can feel safe to express their feelings and concerns. Karen focuses on each person’s unique concerns and experiences and assists them in accessing their own potential for growth and change.

In addition to counseling, Karen’s other passion is for the healing nature of the voice and she utilizes her own voice as an instrument for well-being through song, chant, and toning.
